On February 3, 2021, Abbott Informatics announced the release of STARLIMS SDMS (Scientific Data Management System) V12.2. As well as being available as a component of the STARLIMS integrated solution, V12.2 can also serve as a standalone system for the assistance of clients who need to comply with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory authorities’ data integrity requirements.
Capable of functioning with or without any LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), STARLIMS SDMS V12.2 is also capable of interfacing with any ELN (Electronic Laboratory Notebook), CDS (Chromatography Data System), SAP (Systems Applications Products), and other laboratory systems without having to replace them.
STARLIMS SDMS V12.2 was specifically designed for helping an organization’s compliance with 21CFR Part 11 regulations by ensuring or enabling audit trails, compliant record creation, data security, and electronic signatures. Below are the resulting benefits for clients.
The STARLIMS Standalone SDMS is capable of functioning with an integrated LIMS system or independently. It ensures data integrity through the real-time capture of data, backup of data, protection of data from deterioration and loss, and maintenance of raw data for original records.
These benefits assist organizations in quality control, minimization of errors, and complying with regulatory requirements.
Part 2 will discuss the capabilities of the STARLIMS SDMS.
