Best New Features of Windows 10 October 2018 Update – Part 2
December 17, 2018

The Windows 10 October 2018 Update introduced 10 great new features that will improve your experience for both working and gaming. If you haven’t upgraded your company’s PCs to Windows 10 yet, you should consider doing this to get the new tools available. Microsoft support for Windows 7 ends on January 14, 2020. 1) Cloud Clipboard
Perhaps the most liked addition is the Cloud Clipboard, which provides your total clipboard history through the Windows + V keyboard shortcut and syncs it on all Windows 10 devices.

2) Edge Upgrades

The Edge browser can now prevent video from autoplaying audio, and it also allows more control over the websites you do want to permit autoplay. Edge has upgraded it’s Fluent Design with more attractive tabs and novel effects.

3) File Explorer Dark Theme

Dark themes are now available for File Explorer, which is a radical departure from its traditional white. However, this color scheme matches the predominantly dark themes of Windows 10.

4) Game Bar Features

Game Bar now lets you see CPU and GPU usage next to average frames per second. This becomes handy when determining what may be slowing down your computer while streaming. Also new are greatly improved audio controls, allowing management of what has been captured when streaming a game or taking a clip.

5) HDR & Ray-Tracing

The October 2018 update tremendously eases the set up and control of High Dynamic Range in Windows 10, so you can make sure it is enabled for supporting apps and games. Also included is the platform support for Nvidia’s new ray-tracing GPUs. Microsoft teamed up with Nvidia on ray-tracing, and DirectX support is enabled.

Part 2 will cover Larger Text, Power Usage, Screen Sketch, Search Preview, and Your Phone App.
