Part 2 will discuss more of the trends transforming how Managed Services Providers (MSPs) and businesses will work together in the future.

3) Hyper-Converged Infrastructure

A software-defined IT infrastructure, a Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI), virtualizes all the elements of a conventional hardware-defined system. At a minimum, an HCI includes virtualized computing (a hypervisor), software-defined storage, and virtualized networking. HCI typically runs on commercial off-the-shelf servers.

An MSP can assist an organization in implementing a hyper-converged infrastructure, which will help its business operations become more efficient. The initial step will be to determine the company’s current and future business and technical requirements. Solutions are then selected, and a plan for deployment is carried out.

4) IoT & Blockchain

Connected internet devices are expected to grow to 22 billion by 2025. To leverage the Internet of Things (IoT) and blockchain, organizations need access to the necessary skills for their proper deployment. Otherwise, these technologies may hinder their operations. However, finding, hiring, and retaining employees with the required skill sets will consume much time and effort.

In contrast, working with a qualified and expert managed services provider will allow a company to implement these two innovative technologies efficiently to remain competitive. In addition, an expert MSP can help optimize the deployment strategies of IoT and blockchain for its business operations in the cloud.

5) Outsourcing IT Expertise

Most large companies have found that an in-house IT team will not be self-sufficient. Technology is constantly evolving and disrupting businesses. Keeping current is costly and time-consuming.

The typical small business cannot fund the equivalent in-house IT support that larger organization can afford. However, they cannot function and compete without IT expertise. As a result, they are increasingly turning to MSPs for help.

Even though data breaches remain a serious threat, nearly four out of five businesses worldwide expressed confidence in outsourcing IT expertise.
