May 13, 2016Tips to Help Keep your Computer Running Efficiently
May 23, 2016It’s so frustrating when you are in the middle of working on something important online and your computer is moving slowly. It’s even worse if your internet provider is telling you that you have high speed service. You’re thinking, really? It feels like we’re having a flashback to dial up days. So, what could be the problem?
When was the last time you ran your disk defragmenter? That should be done a few times each week. This process will eliminate a lot of old files that are weighing your computer down and making it run slower.
Do you have the proper security protection set up on your computer to prevent spyware, viruses
and other damaging entities from attacking your computer? If not, add a security system immediately.
Clearing the cache history of your viewing can give you some space in your computer to help it run smoother and faster.
If you have programs in your computer that you no longer use, make sure you delete them from the my computer section in the add/remove section to free up space on your computer.
If you are having problems with your computer freezing, that could be from a virus or spyware. Run your security system to see if it can clear it out. Unfortunately sometimes these things sneak past the security system but often it will be able to clean it out too.
You can’t be too careful when you are online. Don’t open emails from unknown or suspicious senders. These might contain a virus. In addition many hackers try to imitate companies you do business with by trying to ask you for private information. Be very careful and never give personal information to anyone in an email or over the phone.
Always be careful with all of the websites you visit. Even the social media sites can cause your computer problems. Just be tuned in and aware of what you allow your computer to be exposed to. Always err on the side of caution.
