As discussed in Part 1, the STARLIMS Forensic Laboratory Information Management Solution assists law enforcement agencies in the management of the evidence lifecycle. Outsource Module for Crime Labs

Crime labs are now able to fully manage the entire lifecycle involving the outsourcing of samples. Samples are first sent to an outsource pool, where they are batched for shipping. An outsource laboratory report can be attached to every sample, which can then undergo an electronic review process.

Super Users & System Administrators

V12.0 provides new features that ease LIMS support and configuration.

• Custom Microsoft Word Tags can be used within Word reports.
• Microsoft Excel Static Tables can be created from Excel files.
• Case & Property Print Templates can be used for creating Crystal Reports.
• Pre and Post Execution Script codes are configurable for execution once an examiner finishes an analysis.

Fully configured, this new version of STARLIMS Forensics comes with faux users in every unit. It also features a user-friendly step-by-step workflow and quick start guides, allowing clients to quickly begin working through the sample workflows for Crime Scene, Toxicology, Chemistry, Service Requests, Digital Evidence, Quality Assurance, DNA, Property, Firearms, Pre-Log, and Latent Prints.

New Security Features

Information security and data protection are crucial aspects of every crime lab managed by law enforcement agencies.
