As discussed in Part 1, Abbott Informatics introduced STARLIMS Technology Platform v12 on May 1, 2020. This upgrade will assist users in properly operating and maintaining STARLIMS.  Part 2 will highlight more new features of this release.

The new standard for implementation of single sign-on (SSO) for an organization’s various systems, SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) is supported by the upgrade to TP v12.
SSO Support for Native App
TP v12 supports SSO for the Native App in combination with a XFD based system.
Support for Crystal Reports 2016
Users can develop their own Crystal Reports utilizing the new CR 2016 version with the TP v12 upgrade.
Various Security and Bug Fixes
TP v12 brings the newest fixes in the areas of HTML5 usability, performance, and security.
Virtual PDF Printing
Implementation of the Virtual PDF Printing for SDMS (Scientific Data Management System) enables STARLIMS in the capturing and processing of printer output directly into the SDMS.
