If you’re a Google Sheets user, you might notice things move a little more quickly the next time you dive into your spreadsheets.

In a blog post today, Google detailed several upgrades to the free Excel alternative, all of which should improve both performance and efficiency.

Work more quickly across sheets
First up, when you’re pasting data from one spreadsheet to another, the process will be 50% faster. In addition, setting filters, which only show data from a certain range, is getting 50% faster. Across the board, Google says Sheets will now load existing data 30% faster.

This means that not only will you be able to work more quickly across multiple spreadsheets, but every existing spreadsheet you pull up will be accessible more quickly. If you rely on Sheets for your daily work, this is a significant increase, especially if you’re consistently moving data around.

Google announced similar speed boosts to Sheets last summer, including the doubling of calculation speeds.

“These changes help various users work faster and more efficiently in a variety of scenarios,” Google said, offering several examples of how the new upgrades might work. A data analyst, for example, can paste small or large quantities of data from an existing spreadsheet to a new one more quickly. A campaign manager can take less time to add filters to better understand a campaign’s performance at a certain time, and a small business owner can see their data load in less time.
