During the past few years, the STARLIMS team has been very busy. A global LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) provider for more than 30 years, its evolution gathered greater momentum when it began reaching for excellence.

Five years ago, Abbott created the strategy for STARLIMS to become the world’s market leader. The solution began expanding to regions around the globe where it had never been deployed.  STARLIMS now serves laboratories in 70 countries worldwide. In the past, STARLIMS was in the business of customizing its services. The objective was to make a standardized and out-of-the-box solution. STARLIMS first began as Windows-based software utilizing XFD technology to support quality manufacturing. In addition, customers can select either a SaaS product or an on-premises installation.

Ever evolving, STARLIMS remains up-to-date and also innovative. Its most notable feature is a low-code design and integrated development environment with application frameworks for constructing web-based applications for any industry.

Its multi-tier architecture allows labs to independently upgrade this platform apart from the applications within the dictionary.
